The Translators

The invited participants, most of whom had already translated works of Irish writing, came from right across Europe: the countries represented included Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Sweden. The lectures and readings all generated great interest among the participants, spurring many of to take on new translation projects and to encourage publishers in their home territories to publish translations of some of the works they discovered during the seminar.
