ILE runs an annual programme of residential bursaries for professional translators working on publisher-commissioned translations of works of Irish literature. The purpose of the bursaries is to enable translators to spend a period of up to 3 weeks in Ireland working on a translation, meeting with authors, carrying out research in Irish libraries and generally immersing themselves in the cultural, linguistic and artistic environment of contemporary Irish literature.
Ireland Literature Exchange (ILE), in association with the Ulster Bank Theatre Festival and the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport, invites applications from literary translators from Poland who are working on the translation of a work of contemporary Irish poetry and who wish to spend up to three consecutive weeks in Ireland during the period 26th September to 17th October 2010.
